It’s quite late in the day in the UK to be writing this post. Given that I have known about World Diabetes Day for a good while now you would think I’d have written something sooner than now wouldn’t you?!
Anyway, I hadn’t but now I am.
I have spent today watching, reading and listening to others’ thoughts and feelings on T1d and it has been somewhat inspiring. There are so many of us out there fighting the 24/7 battle against this blasted disease, we are all at different places in our journeys and have many different attitudes to and relationships with T1d. That being said, there is one overriding theme amongst the posts that I have seen today and that is that we will NOT let it be more than just a little inconvenience. Diabetes will not stop us doing what we want to do. Diabetes will not stop us achieving great things. Diabetes will not stop us living long, healthy and fulfilled lives.
On this special day, dedicated to diabetes I therefore just wanted to say a massive thank you to the diabetes online community for inspiring me and each other on a daily basis. We are all in this together and through our positivity and support we can all show this stupid disease who is boss!
Lots of love and hugs xxxxx
